| In 2005, Minnesota had nearly 15,700 reported cases of chlamydia and gonorrhea, with seven out of 10 cases occurring in teens and young adults. |

| Think syphilis is something from the past? Think again. In 1999, there were 19 new cases of syphilis in Minnesota. In 2006, there were 104. That's up 450 percent. Most, but certainly not all, of these cases were men who had sex with other men. |
