YES, IF YOU FALL INTO THE HIGH RISK CATEGORY:
  • You have had more than one sex partner in your life
  • You know or suspect your partner has had sex with other partners
  • You have had oral, vaginal or anal sex without using a condom, glove or rubber dam
  • You have shared injection drug needles or works or have had sex with someone who has shared needles or works
  • You have had an STD in the past

YES, IF YOU FALL INTO THE MODERATE RISK CATEGORY:
  • You think your partner is not having sex with other partners, but you are not 100 percent sure (and you are not using a barrier)

PROBABLY NOT, IF YOU FALL INTO THE LOW RISK CATEGORY:
  • You use latex condoms, consistently and correctly, 100 percent of the time for anal, oral or vaginal sex
  • You have never shared injection drug needles or works or had sex with someone else who has shared needles or works
  • You get tested for STDs once or twice each year and you have tested negative and have not engaged in unsafe sex since the tests
  • You are 100 percent sure that your partner is not having sex with other partners, and your partner has tested negative for STDs (This is very rare or impossible to know)
